Marathon workup

Monday, November 12th, 2007

Today a renewed my membership at the gym and got through my first body workout in quite a while, probably in more than a year. And yeah I can feel it. But it feels good!

I’m going to start moving up my training a notch, so I’ll be fit for the Marathon, but first I’ll have a couple of goals that I need to accomplish. First of all I need to sign up for it, and then I’m going to sign up for the Vasaloppet, it’s a 90 km ski (flat surface) tournament. I still don’t know which one of them is the hardest one, but I guess I’ll know at the end of this year.

Work is going fine, at mobispine I’ve really defined my job, and it feels really good to know what I’m supposed to sink my teeth in to every day.

At VentureZone I’m at the moment moving on with the planning of the Rookiedays, which is an entreprenourshipday at the University, dedicated for students that are thinking or planing on starting their own business.

More about that in a while.

Watched a movie yesterday that a sibling to a friend of mine made, it was really good, it was shown on the cinema a last Saturday, unfortunately I wasn’t able to be there, but I saw it yesterday at her place, and it was really awesome!

Congrats dude!

Mobispine, VentureZone, Skill x 2

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

That’s what I’ve been doing lately. Working!
I’ve been going at it about 12 hours a day lately, so I’ve not had that much time to update this site.

But I decided to take a couple of minutes off today to manage a small post.

So what have I been doing
Mobispine?
It’s a really cool company that I got in contact with through my dad.
What we do is a program that you install on your cell, and it is possible to read streams, upload pictures, write blogs, basically you share what you do, and read what you want to read.
It’s not a substitute for the Internet, but rather a complement. Take a look!
I should also say that it’s still a beta. What I am doing is looking for possible ways of implementing our product on the net and the whole bunch of communities.

VentureZone
VentureZone is a part of the university, and what I do here is to promote entrepreneurship among the students on campus. It’s a really cool job, and I get to see how companies are started, from idea to an actual working company. So far I’ve not seen that much, but it’s looking really interesting! And I’m hoping to start my own company at some point.

Skill
I’ve been doing 2 jobs for skill, one is finished, that was doing a survey at the hospital to see how much time it actually takes to do certain tasks. Nothing that interesting.
The second one is more interesting, and that is filming lectures about team spirit, work, and selffulfillment.

Anyhow, I’ve been working quite a lot lately, but it’s been fun, can’t really see myself doing nothing, then I do much rather do a lot.

A bit of running

Monday, October 8th, 2007

For you who don’t know I have started my training for next years Marathon, yesterday I was out and my knee popped, but went out today anyways, it went alright, so I guess it wasn’t that bad. But I’ll see how I am tomorrow, this morning I could barely get out of bed.

Had my first meeting with my new boss today, he just got me in the loop, so I know what my job is going to be all about. Tomorrow we are having a meeting to talk abit about my first assignment. It’s going to be sweet to get about doing something again.

Otherwise I’ve been studying for my test next Monday, it’s Mathematical Statistics, not really my first choice of course, but it’s one of the compulsory ones. So it has to be done.

That’s all for now.

Moving in party

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

So yesterday I had a bit of a gettogether with some friends that I haven’t really met for a long while. And we had a awesome time! My sisters were here too, though the younger one couldn’t really keep up :)

Anyhow, a friend of mine has moved in for a couple of weeks too, so at the moment we are too in the apartment, and it works alright.

Today I have been to a workinterview again, and tomorrow I’m going to an other. It’s the 3rd one tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to have a job, to start working decent hours again. At the moment I’m most doing short jobs a couple of times a week. But hey, it’s money, and I have to pay the rent.

I’ve also been arranging the courses I’m about to take the next semester. I know pretty well what I want to do. More about that coming up later.

Getting settled

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

It takes a while to get settled, you know how you have to find the spot for you tee cup, where are you going to hang that painting, and where are you going to have that lamp.
All questions that are so obvious when you have been living at a place for a while, but when you just moved in you kind of have to ease it in. I’m not done yet, but I have found a couple of spots to hang lamps, and I for certain know where my tee cup is going to be.

Today was my first day off in a while, so yesterday we went to HG (a student union pub), to see what they had to offer on a Tuesday, it was actually kind of crap. But it had to be tested, and now I know. And since I was off today I took this morning in bed, and after that I went down town to meet up with some buddies and spend some hard earned money. I bought a new chins-bar, for my biceps and a pair of new running pants so I can keep on running even when it gets colder.

Oh, today I have been configuring the computer quite a bit to, and you know what, it was worth it, it doesn’t sound like a Boeing any more!

Tomorrow it’s work again, and on Friday it’s moving in party, I’ll tell you more about that later.

Over and out.

Apartment almost fit for living

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Hey boys and girls!

Been a couple of really hectic days, not really stopped yet, as I’ve already told you, last Thursday my dad came and helped me out with the painting, and José also gave me a big hand! Thanks both of you, hadn’t done it without you!

This weekend me, José and Christian moved in all the furniture, so from now it’s not only a shell it’s actually really livable. Thank you very much guys!
After the move in me and José made the first dinner in the apartment, really nice!

Oh, been working pretty much everyday too, so it’s been really hectic, but it feels good to get into some kind of normal living again.

Oh, the hammock is probably just a dream that won’t come true :(

Write ya soon.

Moved in and painted

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

Today I woke up after my second day in the apartment.
I signed the contract last week, and moved in this Thursday, my dad came down from Stockholm to give me a hand. Very much appreciated! He also brought a lot of stuff that I needed from back home.

And most importantly, he brought paint so I could repaint the apartment! :) I repainted the entrance and the living room. Both went from being purple (entrance) and brown (living room) to being a nice shade of white. Not only does the apartment look a lot better but also a lot bigger!

Worked for some hours yesterday too, by the time I got home I realized I didn’t have any internet, so I fixed that, so here I am, writing to you from my new apartment, even though there ain’t alot to look at. Tomorrow I’m moving in all the furniture.

The most exiting thing happening is the hammock that I’m going to put in the livingroom. I just haven’t figured out how it’s going to happen, but it WILL!

I’ll upload some pictures at a later stage so you can see the beautiful place I now call my home!

SMHI, Web Interactivity, School…

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Today I went to Norrköping, which is a neighboring town to Linköping, to check out the lecture room where I’m supposed to film tomorrow. It’s looking good, and the camera, which I also got today don’t look like it’s going to be any problem. What I’m looking for right now is how I’m going to transfer the movie from RAW-DV format to a decent webformat, never actually one it specifically for webpurposes. But hey, you learn something new every day.

Been doing quite a lot of programming lately, it’s a course that I’m taking that is about Webdesign and Interactivity, and it’s actually more fun than I remember it. I will give you a link as soon as I have produced something more to actually show, so far it’s more a shell than a actual working webpage.

Believe it or not, but it’s feels wicked to be back, and it’s going to be even better when I actually start studying again. It’s about time to get done with the studying and start working with something decent, and ofcourse earn some real money.

Watched a cool movie about deep diving today, The Big Blue, didn’t know people could hold their breath for so long, and go so deep.

All for now I think.
I’ll be in touch as soon as something interesting happens in my life.

Weeha!

Job - Linköping

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Hey dudes,
Went to an interview today, I think it went alright, but as always coming out from a interview like this I felt a bit lost, because I have no idea whether they did like me or not. But my superior people skills ( :) ) say that they did, at least that feeling is a plus.
And who could resist the irresistible me.

Anyways, they called a couple of minutes ago and told be that I’m up for a work starting next week, this is not the job I’m looking for but it’s a small one I can do on the side. I’m going to film a series of lectures by SMHI, which is the Swedish weather cast “company/organization”. I have been interested in them for a while, and what could be better, get paid to go and see what they are up to.

Went to school for a bit too, to see how I’m doing for the start this spring. I have kind of realized that the courses I have chosen not really fits me. So I got in contact with one responsible for this to be able to change them, and maybe make my own finish to the degree.

What I will try to do is to get a enviroment/economic/development aspect to my computer science degree. It’s kind of a long shot, but I really think that it could be done, and still maintain the computer engineering aspect to the degree.

Hmm, I will come back to you guys when I have thought this through a bit more, but I’m really looking forward to a meeting.

Hopefully next time I’ll also have a long term job, and an Idea for when I’m moving in to the apartment.

TJOHO!
Jonas
