Copenhagen

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

So now I’m in Copenhagen with the Twingly Summer of Code gang, we are headed for the Reboot conference tomorrow. At the moment I’m working on a presentation of us, and our experiences working with this project.

Anyway, we just got here at about nine thirty and went straight for the hotel, after about an hour searching we got to know that we needed to be there the latest six p.m. to be able to check in, hence the room was gone and we had nowhere to stay. But the nice receptionist gave a call to another hotel and we got a room, and even cheeper, so that was nice! I love good service!

Tomorrow it’s time for the conference, and it’s going to be my first, which I’m looking a lot forward too.

I’ll write you more tomorrow, now I need to keep working on the presentation.

In the local news paper

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Hey guys,

We just recieved a link from corren.se, the local news paper showing the article that they have written about us.

They came by yesterday to interview us and we got a whole page in the local pages of the paper, take a look, not that bad! :)

Social Media While I Was Gone

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

For you guys that read my blog from the start you know that I went out traveling for about nine month. This was probably the most developing month of my life. But what I have come to realize in the past couple of weeks since I started working at Twingly, is that during the month that I was gone I missed a boom of change on the net. Twitter became a big player, Facebook became huge (though that was hard not to notice since people actually changed facebook instead of email adresses).

I can without feeling that I’m exagerating that the month I was gone a missed a very big change in how people use the internet. I came back from web 1.0 to web 2.0 and all of us know what a difference that is.

However I’m really looking forward to head straight into the battle again and become one of the big players in the market. You’ll see! :)

Time for bed now, need to get up in three hours.

Footnote, this blog might change a bit, but it’s going to stay personal, except that the information might be more focused on web related stuff instead of what beer I like, and how the party last weekend was. Or I might just keep telling you about that too.

Wrestling with feedburner

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

So I’ve been really getting into this web bizz lately, and learned that no respecteable site uses normal rss feeds, but that you need to use feedburner. So now this site should be using it, i’ll see what happens, and hopefully the few followers I’ve got will stay with me :)

Interesting thing to say…

I was going to say “Hey that won’t happen in Sweden”, but then we just got a new law that pretty much contradicts that so…

Anyhow, read this article, it’s interesting

Starting my own business

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

Hey!

Today I’ve been looking into what’s needed to start my own company in Sweden. The reason for this is that I’ve got a job todo and they agreed on having me as a consultant. I’m seeing this as an opertunity to try the this “starging your own business” thing. Hopefully I’ll be a billionare before this year is over :)

Nah, but it’s going to be fun anyway.

I’m still trying to figure out what the name of the company is supposed to be, it could be something cool, or it could just be my name. But recently I’ve been looking into the SEO market and have understood the importance of it. So I’ll wait a bit with the name and for now just get to know what I need to do to get my company as well known ass possible!
